PEGNet conference 2009: Policies for reducing inequality in the developing world

The Poverty Reduction, Equity and Growth Network (PEGNet) annual conference will be held at the Institute for Social Studies. A prize will be awarded to best-practices in cooperation between research­ers and practitioners. This call therefore asks for submission of papers in the  specified areas as well as projects, programs and initiatives eligible for this prize.

This conference will provide a platform for high-level dialogue between development researchers, practitioners and policy-makers. The two conference days will feature sessions based on invited and contributed papers, debates, round tables and keynote speeches by renowned speakers from academia, ­economic policy and development practice. Confirmed speakers and discussants include Kate Bird (ODI), Francisco Ferreira (World Bank), Jan Willem Gunning (Free University of Amsterdam), Stephan Klasen (University of Göttingen) and Jan Pronk (ISS, The Hague, former Minister for Development Cooperation in The Netherlands).
