The overall perspective of this conference is to explore:
The changing world and the challenges it presents to social science
The interface between social science and the changing world
The state of social science itself, as it seeks to confront the challenges.

This conference therefore aims to make social science relevant, pertinent and potent, social scientists have to scrutinize their own concepts about how society works, and engage in vigorous self‐examination of how their approaches fare in order to define common tasks and set a shared agenda.
