• African Economics Research Consortium
  The African Economics Research Consortium (AERC) was established in 1988 in order to strengthen local capacity to conduct research into sub-Saharan African economies. Both the full text and abstracts of all AERC publications are on the website.
• African Regional Networks
  An extensive database of regional research and training networks developed by t­he Partnership for Higher Education in Africa (PHEA).
• Archival Platform
  A networking, advocacy and research initiative. Focuses not only on archives and libraries, but also to memory, cultural practice and places that tell the stories of the past. Aims to  facilitate dialogue and information sharing between professionals, academics and government employees in the heritage and archive sector.­
• Association for the Development of Education in Africa
  A forum for policy dialogue and partnership between funding agencies, African ministries of education, NGO's and CSO's. Develops and maintains several online databases.
• Association of African Universities
  A pan-African organization that promotes cooperation between universities in Africa and between African universities and the international academic community. More than 100 universities belong to the AAU and are listed on the site.
• Canadian Policy Research Networks
  CPRN research aims to guide decision-makers responsible for social and economic policy. It works in the areas of children, youth and families, cities and communities, citizen engagement, democracy, governanc­e and citizenship, diversity, education and learning, health and health human resources, job quality, labour market/vulnerable workers, and social protection.
• Development Innovations and Networks
  An international network which provides infor­ma­tion, exchanges of experiences and support for local and global development.
• Economy of Ghana Network
  An in­teractive website serving as a platform for discussion among members. Members receive regular email updates on relevant research and socio-economic policy matters.
• Educational Research Network for West and Central Africa
  An extensive database of regional research and training networks from the Partnership for Higher Education in Africa.
• Employment Policy Network
  This portal aims to act as a connector between research agencies and the wider policy community, to enable regional decision-makers and stakeholders to access cutting-edge ideas to­ improve their policy influence and impact.
• Forum for African Women Educationalists
  A membership organization of African women education ministers, female university vice-chancellors, and other senior women policy makers in education in Africa.
• Global Development Network
  A worldwide network of research­ and policy institutes addressing current development challenges.
• Good Governance Learning Network
  A network of South African non-governmental organisations that aims to promote participatory, effective, accountable and pro-poor local government.
• Inter Region Economic Network
  An independent­ think tank that promotes ideas and strategies for African development. IREN's mission is to advance greater economic opportunities and individual liberty in Africa.
• Inter-University Council for East Africa
  Works with institutions of higher learning in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, and is located in Kampala.
• International Policy Network
  This network aims to encourage better public understanding of the role of institutions in social and economic developm­ent by interacting with thinkers and commentators in many countries and across many disciplines.
• National Welfare Social Service and Development Forum
  Broad based civil society representative organisation serving affiliate member organisations working across the development spectrum in South Africa. Provides support and coordination in the areas of policy engagement and lobbying, human rights advocacy, resource mobilisation and capacity building.
• Network of Institutes and Schools of Public Administration in Central and Eastern Europe
  Shares knowledge and skills to address present and future challenges in public administration. Training­ support and research materials are available online.
• Organization for Social Science Research in Eastern and Southern Africa
  A regional research and capacity-building network with a membership in 21 countries which  maintains an active research and publishing program.
• Pambazuka News
  An innovative and influential web­ forum for social justice in Africa produced by a pan-African community of about 300 citizens and organisations.
• Partnership for Higher Education in Africa
  A website which includes a searchable database of grants, publications sponsored by this Partnership, a searchable Africa Regional Networks database and links to other sites.
• Policy Innovations
  Showcases think tanks, research centres, non-governmental organisations, and advocacy organisations that are driving innovative development policy. See the communities of practice page. A ­weekly online magazine highlights innovations for more ethical globalisation or using globalisation to advance the cause of social justice.
• Policy Network
  An international think-tank which promotes­ progressive policies and the renewal of social democracy. Policy Network facilitates the sharing of ideas and experiences among politicians, policymakers and experts on the centre-left.
• Regional Network on Equity in Health in Southern Africa (EQUINET)
  A network of professionals, civil society members, policy makers, state officials and others who promote and realise values of equity and social justice in health.
• Resources on South African Higher Education
  Aims to support higher education in ­South Africa and has links to most South African universities, technikons, higher education consortia, and research and policy do­cuments.
• Southern African Regional Poverty Network

• Southern African Regional Universities Association
  Assists in the revitalisation and development of the leadership and institutions of higher education in Southern Africa. Manages databases of Southern African universities and disseminates research findings through regional networks­.
• Southern and Eastern Africa Policy Research Network
  A network of six research institutions engaged in strengthening policy analysis in their home countries.
• Tertiary Education in Africa
  A World Bank resource with information on a range of projects and programmes, quality assurance, data and statistics, and related links and resources.
• The International Network for Higher Education in Africa
  Aims ­to engage all stakeholders in African higher education through a central point of reference.
• University Science, Humanities and Engineering Partnerships in Africa
  Promotes collaboration in the generation and dissemination of knowledge to build institutional and human capacity in African universities. Aims to develop a network of African researchers to address the developmental requirements of Sub-Saharan Africa.
• Women's Net
  A feminist organisation that works to advance gender equality and justice in South Africa through the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
• Working Group on Higher Education
  One of 11 working groups sponsored by the Association for the Development of Education in Africa. The site contains the full text of many of its report and case studies.
